Today I traded news-site-scrolling for brief meditations throughout the day to practice being present, open and aware. In addition to paying close attention to a nearby marsh I wanted to Well-Keep the whole planet, so spread a big world map on the dining room table and imagined what life is like all over mother earth, including many places I'd never heard of before. At the marsh I was re-inspired by reading passages from Braiding Sweetgrass and I counted 45 Mallard ducks tucked along the shoreline, some of whom gave me their laughter-like heh-heh-heh greeting.
Later I attended a concert of Rachmaninoff's All-Night Vigil (luckily for me not lasting all night.) This piece from 1915 honors the sacred, holy night and was a beautiful closing to my first WellKeeping day.
Thank you Ellen, for weaving your creative mindful day with all!
