Today I planted a tiny stupa in the crevice of a split maple. The stupa holds blessings and prayers of protection. It is one of countless stupas being placed in the earth around the world, with the intent to avert a global disaster that was prophesied by the Tibetan master Padmasambhava in the 8th century, and many other Tibetan masters since. I carried mine from California last summer and today placed it in a small woods adjacent to the park commemorating the Halifax explosion of 1917, which happened in the harbour below.
I offered many prayers today and felt the poignancy and beauty of fall, and of being alive at this time, in this particular place. I visited the ocean, noticed the personality of the rocks and the seaweed in a way I hadn't before, wondered how much else I have missed, taken for granted. Always the earth keeps giving.
In a couple of hours I am 73. Love to all you humans tenderly tending...

Blessings on earth & on your Birthday💓🌟
