Welcome to our group Well Keeper Reflections! A space for us to connect and share with each other.
Greetings Well Keepers,
Yesterday I was privileged to initiate the first day of Well Keeping.
This is what I wrote to Barbara Adriance who is holding space today.
Today, the beginning of the Year of the Wood Dragon, was wonderful.
I began my day with a meditation and gazing at the rising sun here in Mexico where I currently reside.
As I sat in the morning light, so many beautiful birds began their day with song and conversation.
Before the sun was too high in the sky, I went for a hike up the mountain behind my house.
It’s a lovely trail that leads to a waterfall. I brought tobacco and sage as a ritual to offer the land here.
All I could here was the sound of my footsteps as I walked and the breeze moving through the giant oak trees.
After I made the offering I found a tree and sat against the truck for quite awhile communing with nature.
The sound of the waterfall was hypnotic and I think I may have fallen asleep for a short time.
When I opened my eyes, there was a large bird with a yellow chest right in front of me.
We had a moment then it flew into the trees.
I spent most of the day up there and walked down in the last afternoon.
After a light meal I walked to Lake Chapala which is where I live and sat near the shore to watch the sunset.
It was glorious.
It’s almost 8 pm here and I am winding down from this most wonderful day.
Before I began this email I envisioned myself sitting by an actual Well in remberance of so many women
who were WellKeepers.
Blessings,
Mira
