A word for keeping the well

Relearning my language has been a journey of profound discovery, unveiling the wisdom deeply rooted in my heritage. "仁," (én), translated as "Benevolence," embodies a noble moral quality representing care, compassion, respect, and tolerance towards others. It stands as one of the most important virtues in Confucianism, serving as the cornerstone for building a harmonious society.

Thanks to technology, I've been able to bring the East closer to the West, finding meanings that precisely describe the essence of "仁."

The term first emerged in the "Book of Changes," symbolizing "tolerance." Later, Confucius elevated it to a moral principle and behavioral guideline, making it a core concept in Confucian thought. In the "Analects," Confucius extensively elaborated on "仁," emphasizing its significance in personal development and social interactions.

The Chinese character for "仁" combines "人" (rén), representing humanity, and "二" (èr), symbolizing the relationship between individuals. Its original meaning reflects care and mutual assistance among people. Despite the evolution of Chinese characters, the essence and importance of "仁" have remained deeply respected and inherited in traditional Chinese culture.

According to Google, May 8th is the day to remember Victory in Europe Day and the end of World War II. I was born in the 70s, after the war. However, the fear, shame, and many other confused emotions continued through the DNA of many generations. In the Chinese lunar calendar, today is an auspicious day, perfect for cleansing and letting go. Today, I am silently bury the weapons of cost conflicts between people, arguments over who’s right and wrong, and the wars that still happen in the world, causing a lot of pain. On this day, I stand with all of you, cleansing with care, compassion, respect, tolerance, and understanding towards others.

A beautiful share and very synchronistic for me. Being a part of this east/west "bridge" as I am well keeping today is essential to my ceremony. Thank you 💓
