This weekend I was lucky enough to spend the time in a wonderful “Embodied Beings” Retreat with Amel Murphy - a privilege to be with my mother and two dear friends, one who is on a painful journey of awaiting an appeal, having been refused asylum to stay in the UK, with her adorable 2month baby: the best gift is her not knowing the tough context of her life, and yet exudes a purity and wisdom of the highest kind.
I decided to poetise my well keeping today…
“My mum, my Rebeccas and Little me
Drove to Bedford to Just Be
Yoging With Jean , Amel & Katie
All Centred around our Maya Baby..
A precious time, birds sang faint,
We coloured our paths, perfumed so quaint
Told earth to sky, ‘those mountains you carry,
You were only meant to climb,
Let them down,
unfold, unzip sublime’
Lives unfurled - Amel held the way
Tales of truths swooped minds away
Breathing in hope, grief went astray
EmBodying our words, we moved in play
So We tended to our souls today…
welled up with tears about our plights..
We seeded all the beams of light
That will shine forth with delight
As future ventures into sight
absolutely love the poem. thank you Sam for your generosity of heart and presence
