I am wrapping up my Well Keeping day. I chose my day deliberately as it is the first Monday back to school and the first time in 41 years I have not returned in the fall as I retired in June. I woke at first light, went outdoors to hear the birds greet the day, and spent the day mostly in silence. I did some tending at home before heading out with my dog to hike, swim, and canoe at Blueberry Lake in Warren, Vermont, a spot I had been wanting to go to for some time. I made an effort to be super mindful, and to try to do just one thing at a time all day. Highlights of the day were a passing thunderstorm between lovely warm sunny skies and the buzzing of bees in a meadow of goldenrod. It was lovely and so fitting for this entrance into my next phase of life.
