Reflection from Rukmini Iyer, Well Keeper March 26
Having just passed on the mantle to our wellkeeping sister for today, I sit back in a moment of gratitude, joy and flow. The day of wellkeeping seems to have brought on an unexpected menstrual flow, which feels quiet and easy..
My day of wellkeeping was in relative silence, with a few hours of communing with some sisters who joined me in the joy of the process. I am based in India, with the world's largest parliamentary elections underway. A lot of us are nervous and disturbed about the state of democracy in the country, which is likely to deteriorate after the elections, given the forecasts. But connecting with the land beneath my feet yesterday got me in touch with the purposeful resilience of the space, which will not be rattled by collapsing structures. The land is wise.
I often process life by making nature mandalas from fallen leaves, flowers, twigs, stones, etc. Yesterday, I was in touch with the energy of a mandala made a little while ago, and the writing that flowed after it...
In dispersing fragrances
The wind transmutes
From being the vehicle of scents
To being scented.
In streaming its radiance
The moon metamorphoses
From being a reflector of light
To being luminescent.
In freeing the beloved
The lover deepens
From the act of loving
To being love.
In this freedom, I pass on the joy of wellkeeping for the day....
What a beautiful nature mandala, and poem🙏
