I have been aware of the heartfelt honoring of Mothers' Day today. A rightful honoring of the miraculous and profound power to give birth. I want to add that we as creators also have the gift and responsibility of holy care for that which is ending.. We know innately about composting, We shed sacred tears. They flow from the well we tend. In these times. We hold the great cycles of birth and death, and support one another in bearing this blessed work.

Yesterday, during the day of silence, a raven lost a chick that fell out of her nest in a nearby cedar tree. It was as though she went mad in her distress. the squaking and frantic flying in circles near my cottage. After hours of this I went out to see if I could somehow help her. When I walked out she was on a branch above my front steps. I just stood quietly, breathing with her. The circling and voacalization began again. I walked very slowly down ta pond closeby and leaned on a tree, dropping into the silence, with my eyes closed. For a long time. She came and sat in the tree next to me. The agitation finally stopped. This morning I see her sitting quietly in the tree by the pond, I love the ravens. Thanks for reading this.
