Well Keeper Reflections

Public·177 Well Keepers

I offered tobacco and started a Sacred fire by our Inipi (sweat lodge) at midnight Thursday into Friday.

It’s been a busy night even in my dream time. The ancient ones seem to wanna come through. I’m listening. Waiting. Praying. Watching. The Sacred Cheti (Fire)has been going through the night and I will keep it through this day and into the darkness.

around 1:00pm I stacked the sacred fire and journeyed to the Farmington River here in CT. , as it has part of my entire life, to offer my prayers. As I sit here at the river bank offering a Sacred healing song.

I reflect on my time I’ve shared space with the Mini Wachoni (Sacred water) here on this Unchi Maka (Grandmother Earth). I’ve given my joy and success, my deepest grief, my fear, my unworthiness, my dreams, I’ve brought my 3 sons and 3 grandsons with such joy in my heart to introduce them to each other.

This Sacred water holds memory and emotions, it travels Macasitomia ( all around the Earth).  I know that many of you have sat with water too. So when each of us sit with water we know each other. When we touch a Tree, that drinks that traveling water, it recognizes each of us, we recognize each other.

When I see the Black Matoe(Bear) in the woods and our eyes meet, we recognize each other. We both have life from the same water. Ohhhh my prayers are heavy on my heart for clean water for those at war. 🙏🏽♥️🙏🏽

Spirit is present and good.

One of life’s obligations is to live for ALL beings here on the Unchi Maka (Earth)… each breath dedicated to the knowing that the breath is the medicine needed.

The Sacred reciprocity of ALL beings, Tree, Water, Rock, Earth, Winged, four legged, five fingered surface walkers, those who burrow, crawl, slide and swim is all of our breath… this breath binds us together. Here and now.

Yet my heart aches for the return of the balance of the Sacred masculine and the Sacred feminine for us humans. How do we meet these times with community disappearing into technology? How do we meet these times with elders sitting alone? How do we meet these times with children not hearing their traditions of their families? How do we meet these times when no one is bringing the children to the woods, the water, the mountains. How do we care about and for the Earth if we don’t bring the young there to create relationship.

The elders say pray…

Yes I know this, I know the power of prayer. I’ve never seen an Elder pray without weeping, simply because they know the power prayer holds. So I sit here and pray with my heart heavy… weeping for the Elders, the children, the Earth. Yes  the magnificent Earth.

I’m honored to hold and keep this Well for the Earth and all she holds in prayer!

It is now 11:00 pm and I am entering the Inipi (sweat Lodge) ceremony to continue my prayer. 🙏🏽

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this Sacred Earth journey
