Wellkeeping Reflections September 14, 2025
This weekend has been a time of healing, forgiveness and reflection. Cliff and I visited the traveling installation of The Vietnam Veterans Memorial here in Port Townsend, a three-quarter-sized replica of the wall memorial in Washington, DC. 58,000+ men and 8 women died in that war—each of their names etched into the shiny black surface of the stone—and this is in addition to the many who have died since that war, as a result of the war. “The Wall That Heals” is for loved ones and the nation to collectively remember the individual lives that have been taken, and reflect on the cost of this one war to ourselves and the nation.
In the quiet space of today, these 58,000 names are with me as a group of angels with one voice, letting us know that they will never have to be put in harm’s way again. They are letting their loved ones and all of us know that they are present, with gratitude and forgiveness, and with an urgent message to make the choice to stop the perpetuation of war.
Personally, I must de-escalate my feelings of anger and hopelessness aroused by the current events of the past few days. The Wall that Heals is a timely message from these souls for the tumultuous week in Eastern Europe and the US.
From the Well,
Kathy

Dear Kathy
What tumultuous week do you mean?
Yes. War must be stopped all around our globe inc Ukraine, Gaza, all the Middle East as well as war in our hearts and minds
