Well Keeper Reflections

Public·165 Well Keepers

Keeping the Well in silence on my birthday and the full moon provided a deep opportunity for contemplation, gratitude and connection with the design and substance inherent in the ‘Word’.  As the hours passed, each element of the external and internal landscape which bubbled into consciousness carried a name, a tag, a label, intended for that notion to be communicated through language in order that one’s experience could be shared with another. The silence allowed the underlying nature of the creature, the desire, the feeling, the environment, or the object to be recycled into the heart and mind as a kind of Communion with Self.

A day spent playing in the sun and wind, with hands in the dirt, sifting compost and spreading straw, visited in silence by two-leggeds and four-leggeds and friends with wings, created the space for an awareness of the subtle patterns of  joy in all things living and non-living. This silence provides the shuttle for weaving the fabric of Love within and around each and all of us.

I feel such gratitude for having had this opportunity.

Here are some of the words, spoken only within the walls of my heart, from my Day of Silence:
