Tending the Wellspring on June 6, 2024

As my day to tend approached I considered many possibilities of place and practice and what finally landed in me was to simply be present with what life brought forth in the moments. The sacredness of the simple, the miraculous in the ordinary, the beauty in absolutely everything!

I woke to a lovely day in Ashland Oregon, cool and bright with birds singing and sun streaming thru the huge maple trees in our yard. My devotion was to listen in presence and as I watered the garden I felt the waters in everything. The trees, the air, the earth, each flower, and in my body. I could feel that water enlivened everything and was flowing through everything, that water imbues life into all things as it dances with earth, fire and air; it animates our world.

I felt the consciousness of the elementals and how as humans we have the gift to intentionally offer awareness of mind and heart to our environment. To give and receive, to embody gratitude and take responsibility for how we speak, emote, and interact with this earth that we are a part of. Tending that golden thread of the tapestry of all that is with honesty and self responsibility. My part my piece no more no less, we are woven into it all.

I did visit the creek that runs through the heart of our town. The supple spine of this place and it's life blood. I offered my prayers as I often do. Prayers of acknowledgement and gratitude to the life force that she is. Prayers of reverence for her beauty and teachings, and her continuous flow.

In the evening I was fortunate to go to a concert with friends and share the gift of the vibrant music of Ma Muse. Here are the lyrics to the last song they sang: May we all be held in Love. Blessed Be.

"We shall be known by the company we keep

By the ones who circle round to tend these fires

We shall be known by the ones who sow and reap

The seeds of change, alive from deep within the earth

It is time now, it is time now that we thrive

It is time we lead ourselves into the well

It is time now, and what a time to be alive

In this Great Turning we shall learn to lead in love

In this Great Turning we shall learn to lead in love"
